Position Description
Summary of
Job Duties:
This position is for an experienced Security individual to
focus on the security controls and requirements of a
complex, technical environment. The ideal candidate consults
with senior IT management and business unit executives on
the design of complex and/or strategically significant
security systems and projects as well as emerging
technologies. The candidate should possess a broad-based and
in-depth knowledge of complex technologies, tools and
methodologies. The candidate should be an expert in
understanding how security technology relates to the overall
business strategy. The candidate must have a strong security
background and can convey industry-best practices and how
they can integrate into our environment. Candidate would be
responsible for ensuring strong security controls are
established and maintained within our environment and in
compliance with a variety of security requirements.
Candidate would be technical enough to understand
concepts/issues from the technical
teams and bring security issues/solutions to senior
management in an easily understandable manner. Strong
organizational skills are necessary to manage numerous
requests and projects relating to the security environment.
Strong risk assessment skills are required to adequately
convey and remediate security risks. Daily activities
include the managing of multiple security projects, security
teams, working closely with technical teams on security
issues and communicating with management and the business
unit on security strategy and direction. This position
requires someone who is capable of seeing and learning the
big picture, both from a business perspective and from a
technical perspective. Candidate should maintain a solid
knowledge of networks, including all related components and
communication protocols. Have a solid understanding of
information security technology systems including; intrusion
detection/prevention tools (host, network and security event
management), fun
damental knowledge of firewalls, solid knowledge of
security policy enforcement software and overall knowledge
of host security on multiple platforms including, UNIX,
Windows and AIX based servers. Candidate should also
maintain an expert understanding of defense in depth
strategies and how security devices are deployed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidate Requirements Ideal candidate will have a technical
IT background with an emphasis in information security best
practices and controls. Candidate will have managed
individuals from a project perspective as well as
day-to-day. Candidate must have outstanding interpersonal
skills and be capable of working effectively with various
organizations including: business unit and client team
members, application development, network engineers and
management. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
required. Security certifications (CISSP, CISM etc.)
