JOB DESCRIPTION

Position:       Sr. Security Analyst
Location:       San Francisco, California, United States
Type:           Permanent F/T

Closing Date:   2008-02-11

Under the guidance of the UCSF Information Security Policy
and Program Manager, the position will lead and perform
UCSF's e-Discovery and computer forensics activities; the
position will work with Campus Legal Counsel, Risk
Management, Medical Center, Schools and the University of
California Office of the President to develop and coordinate
processes to address e-discovery and forensics requirements;
the position will work with EIS’s incident response
coordinator to ensure proper handling of incidents and with
the Engineering and Architecture team to develop
EIS’s computer forensics and e-discovery
capabilities; 

Secondary Job Duties: Provide technical guidance in incident
response to analyze incidents and their impact on overall
compliance; respond and assist in resolution of information
security incidents as needed; develop new or enhance
existing applications to address UCSF information security
requirements; and perform other duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
BA/BS from an accredited University and a minimum of five
years of information security experience, preferably in an
academic, medical or research environment; solid
understanding of information security requirements and legal
responsibilities of an academic institution; demonstrated
experience with the application of e-Discovery, HIPAA,
SB1386 and FERPA, preferably in an academic environment;
demonstrated experience in computer security incident
response and computer forensics methodology, preferably in
an academic environment; demonstrated ability to act as
liaison between technical and non-technical individuals to
determine feasibility and application of requirements;
demonstrated system administration experience on a variety
of platforms including *nix, OS X and Windows; demonstrated
experience in programming and scripting, such as in C/C++,
Java, Perl, awk, sed.; strong verbal and written
communication skills. Note: Fingerprinting and background
check required.
