Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Greenbelt, Maryland, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2008-05-24
SimIS, Inc. has been tasked to provide the security
expertise to analyze and apply the patches and configuration
updates needed to comply with Security STIGS, 800-53A and
DCID 6/3. Assist in the development of the Security
documents needed for the customer to conduct a successful
Certification and Accreditation (C&A) of the system. The
Security Engineer will be tasked with review and
implementation of the tasks required to pass C&A.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will be
supporting/performing/executing Security Scans, provide the
expertise and assist the security team to evaluate and apply
Security STIG’s, 800-53A controls, DCID 6/3
controls required for the Operating Systems, Applications,
and related Network Devices that make up the developed
systems. This candidate will assist in the Security
Scanning and Analysis to determine levels of hardening and
provide the assistance and mentoring on applying
configuration changes required to meet Security STIGS,
800-53A, and DCID 6/3 compliance on the program. This
person will assist in the preparation of any Security
related documents that may be required for delivery to meet
C&A goals.
This position requires between 5-10 years experience in
Information Security/Assurance. The individual must have a
Bachelors or Masters degree from an accredited college in a
related discipline (or equivalent experience/combined
education).
This position will require excellent oral and written
communication skills to interface with the team and
customer, vendors, and external parties as needed during the
course of the project.
There are several positions to be filled. The successful
candidate will have either a good mix of technical and
programmatic skills, be a programmatic guru with a good
handle on the technical aspects, or vice versa. There is
room for a variety of skill sets. The goal is to build a
team that complements each team member and works well
together in achieving the goal of securing the
customer’s network.
