Position: Security Architect
Location: Parsippany, New Jersey, United States
Type: Permanent F/T

My client is one of the nation’s largest and most
consistently profitable systems integrators and resellers
and they represent the top technology vendors in the
industry. As a result of continued growth they have asked me
to find a Security Presales Architect.
The Solution Architect in their Security Practice will be
dealing with any and everything security related with their
clients. You’ll be a subject matter expert, an
evangelist, and you’ll be involved in presales,
architecture, determination of client needs and more.
Experience with Cisco, RSA, Nokia, Checkpoint are key
because they are the OEM’s my client represents.
This role is not so heavy on compliance and regulatory
issues as there is a practice focused entirely on that.
We need another person in/around the Philly area or
Central/Northern New Jersey area to cover the
Philly/NJ/Delaware corridor. Most of the time you would be
working virtual or at customer sites but they do have
offices in Philly and Parsippany as well. This is an
expansion role - due to promotion – and, in fact,
the person whose role you’ll be filling is going to
be covering the NYC area.
The compensation for the role includes a base of $110K to
$120K+ (but if you’re got the skills and are over
their threshold let’s chat anyway). There is a
bonus potential of at least $25K but most of the people in
these roles generally pull about $40K in FY bonus - based on
utilization (you keep your own calendar) based on billable
time; ~70% utilization factor. Excellent benefits are
included as well.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Basic guidelines:
· Capable of working in diverse
situations but experience working for a VAR or OEM is
essential
· 5+ years experience in information
security arena with considerable customer-facing success
· Hands-on experience with assessment,
design and implementation of enterprise security solutions
· Significant experience reviewing and
implementing security policies and procedures
· Solid understanding of compliance
issues – although compliance is the secondary
focus
· Excellent communication and
interpersonal skills are essential
· Experience conducting security
assessments using commercial and open source host scanning
tools, network scanning tools, and web and database
vulnerability assessment tools
· Working knowledge of cryptography
applications, methods, systems and protocols
· Strong interest in intrusion
prevention, content filtering technologies, wireless
networking and security, authentication and identity
management, and application security
· Significant LAN/WAN internet working
technology experience (routers, switches, etc.) and deep
knowledge of IP addressing, IP subnets and routing
· In depth knowledge of TCP, UDP
Protocols and the OSI seven layer model is required
· System administration experience on
Unix platforms (Linux, HP/UX, AIX, or Solaris) and Microsoft
Windows operating systems is desirable
· Although CISSP certification is
desired, any of the following qualifications would be
beneficial - Checkpoint Certified Security Administrator
(CCSA) or Expert (CCSE), Cisco Certified Security
Professional (CCSP), or other major vendor sponsored
security certifications
