(Washington, DC)

Job Title: SECURITY TECHNICIAN/Telecommunications Technician
City/Location: Washington, DC
Start date: within 2-3 weeks
Job Description/Responsibilities Functional Responsibility:
Serves as an analyst on a network security team that is
responsible for providing secure solutions in both legacy
and distributed environments. The individual must have
hands-on experience with conducting security testing and
intrusion detection.
Summary of Responsibilities
Monitor and support of IDS, Nagios, and other electronic
data sources in determining health checks and the escalation
of alerts/alarms. Follow incident instructions in problem
resolution in accordance within the established
troubleshooting procedures and Standard Operation Procedures
created for our client’s security and system
administration program. Write follow-up documents from
information gathered from senior analysts.
Must have the ability to get a clearance if necessary.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Qualifications needed:
Understanding of TCP/IP and the security implications of
using this protocol suite in a network architecture
Familiarity with IDS event logs and the real-time event
consoles such as ISS RealSecure and or other IDS products
Familiarity with network monitoring application
Ability to initiate Windows and UNIX commands by instruction
Problem solving abilities when examining and responding to
system alerts
Technical writing will be required.
