When you plugged in the PATA drive, the boot order changed to boot
from that drive first. Set the drive order in your setup. I'd set the
PATA drive as primary, but just change the drive order to the SATA
drive. I've got a p4p800e, and an almost identical drive setup. If you
want the PATA drive for storage, you might want to think about putting
it in a removable drive bay. I've got a 300G SATA, 250G PATA and
2-320G SATA drives in a RAID setup of sorts, so I'm assuming you have
a similar capability. I just keep the 2 parallel drives for storage.
How are your optical drives hooked up?
