Hi Ross..nope..don't really need it..it's just frustrating that if I did want/need it..it won't install.  It installed fine on 2 other pc's.  Go figga!!
I did what you suggested and the little reminder icon is gone..for now.  Thanks for the help!
I did find some IE7 stuff on my HD..some in my Prefetch folder..should I delete it?  Also 3 log files..which I may copy and paste into an email..maybe someone can make sense of them.
Would it be ok to delete the IE7 stuff from Prefetch????

I think someone mentioned this on another thread, but do you actually need 7?

I have IE7 (might be a RC, but I have run final at work), and I
dislike it.  It takes so long for it to draw the window, and I'm
running on a 1.8ghz with 1.5gb ram; it shouldn't be that slow. ; The
work computer's even newer and suffers from the same problem.

I eventually went and told Windows Update to not remind me about the
update.  They have the things locked down to never automatically
update, so I don't know if it'd still show in the systray, but it
probably shouldn't.

If you can't find a solution to make it install and don't have to have
v7 yet, go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com, do a Custom, and
tell it to not remind you about IE7 again.

I think it's safe to kill that stuff, but it's been some
time since
I've even seen the folder. Should all be small stuff if you
don't
want to risk it (assuming no one else responds who knows
what they're
talking about)
