For some unknown reason, my second computer turns on by
itself! :-O I
haven't a clue why. I'm thinking it has something to do with
Linux but
can't say for sure, although one wouldn't think so, but
that's the only
thing I can come up with! <shrug> Weird! So I turned
off the main
power button in back until I can try and figure this out
later on. Well,
back to work now...
When a computer dies, does it see a blue screen?

I sometimes get turned, but usually know why.
Sounds like a switch shorting. I had that happen, once. The
switch in
the front is sorta Mickey-Mouse anyway. Surprising how well
they hold up.

Is this happening while you are working on it, or it's
sitting idle for some
time?

First noticed last night. I usually use that computer to
listen to music
when I go to sleep, but decided to listen to regular radio.
All of a
sudden I noticed that the computer was on. When I got up and
turned the
main computer on, I noticed that the computer started up.

ATX motherboards often offer this (in server boards at
least) to recover the
machine after a power outage. It'd be a BIOS setting.

Never mind with my questions, I misread it. I read it as it
turning off by

The only other thing I can think of is that you have it plugged into a modem and when your phone rings it wakes up the puter or you have the bios set to turn on at any keystroke or mouse movement. I had turned on wake PC on any mouse movement puter was always on cause of house settling.
