Selecting Text Onscreen.

Hi all,
Is there a convenient way of selecting text using Conkeror?
The recommended method (going into Caret mode, selecting,
than hitting Escape) is cumbersome enough that its easier to
use the mouse. 

It would be nice, for example, to be able to navigate to the
start of my selection using C-s, hit C-Space, go to the end
of selection and do something like an 'M-x copy '.

 We don't yet have a conkeror UI to caret mode but I know it
is
something we want to add.
