Hi

I'd like to show recent entries and comments on a site front page so have added this to the site slots etc

Also I've copied across portlet_recent_entry.pt and portlent_recent.comment.pt into Plone's portlets folder.

However nothing is showing in the slots on the front page at all

here/portlet_recent_entry/macros/portlet
here/portlet_recent_comment/macros/portlet

Thanks

I'll second that for using the COREBlog provided portlets.
What I did was to
move those to custom in the skins folder, and then add those
to the slots on
the properties page. They do not show up.

I then tried my normal tack, which is to take portlet_news,
and change
'News Item' to COREBlogEntry and that works. Obviously I
changed the
portlet name to portlet_blogentries so that it won't
conflict with
portlet_news which will also be in the right slot.

What I am having problems with, though, is the portlet_news
template
links to a smart folder listing all the news items.
Obviously, since this was
for recent blog entries, I tried to create a smart folder
for to list all
published blog entries. Unfortunately, when you select
item_type under
criterion, COREBlogEntry or something along those lines, is
not selectable.
If you got to search settings(in the plone mananagement
thingie), however, and
add 'Entry', you can then return to the smart folder and
it becomes a
selectable option.

Note you'll want to change the i18n stuff to match the
coreblog provided
portlets, i.e, change
i18n:translate="box_more_news_link" to
i18n:translate="box_recententry". I also
changed the link
in the portlet footer to link to the new smart folder, i.e,
tal:attributes="href
string:$/recent-blog-entries"

Sorry about the way I wrote that response. I was editing my
email as
I went through the process. But I hope that helps.

Rob
