I'm playing with shared/index and I have a question and a
second question
and/or bugreport...

I set up shared/index with authenumerate and sharing
IMAP-folders works
fine. But when subscribing to IMAP-folders, every user
receives a list of
ALL other login-IDs (=mailaddresses on the system), even
from those
users, who hasn't gave him access to their folders. For
privacy reasons
that seems inacceptable for me. Shouldn't it be better to
list just those
accounts, who alreadys gave him access?

And:

I noticed, that some accounts are listed in this overview --
and I can't
explain why.

Using this index-File (with correct linebreaks), Courier
lists just
foofoo.bar but not the other two accounts:

webmaster2be-entertainment.de 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
2be-entertainment.de_webmaster 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
foofoo.bar 10000
10000 /mail/foo.bar/foo/Maildir/
/mail/foo.bar/foo/Maildir/

What's wrong with the first two accounts?

I tried to modified those two entries to get a clue, what's
wrong with
them.

This index-File shows up the last two accounts. -Both of
them, so the
failure is located in the User-ID. But I can't explain
what's the reason
for that.

webmaster2be-entertainment.de 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
2be-entertainment.de_webmaster 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
#
be-entertainment.de_webmaster 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
master2be-entertainment.de 10000
10000 /mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/
/mail/2be-entertainment.de/webmaster/Maildir/

Bug or my fault?

Best regards,

Peer Heinlein

There are some technical reasons why things must work this
way.

Account names cannot contain periods. See
README.sharedfolders.

Sticking periods in the account names gives unpredictable
results.
