| Cant get maildrop to compile with

Hi,
Im trying to get maildrop working as part of my
postfix+courier+mysql
setup. Ive downloaded the maildrop tar but each time I
compile and run
maildrop -v, the mysql support is absent (no "Virtual
user database via
MySQL extension enabled." message). Courier Authlib
libs are at
/usr/lib/courier-authlib/. Any ideas why the mysql options
are not built
in ?

Simple. MySQL support is no longer included in maildrop.
That's what
authlib is for.

I know its no longer include, maildrop now uses authlib - maybe I
wasnt clear enough:
Im using authlib and trying to compile maildrop, which will use authlib
to communicate with mysql for virtual users if it finds authlib
installed on the system. Ive tried everything to get maildrop to see
the authlib libs but still it doesnt have mysql/virtual mailbox
support.....

Simple. MySQL support is no longer included in maildrop. That's what
authlib is for.

No, you were perfectly clear. What I am saying is that
MySQL support
has now been moved to authlib. As such you will not see any
reference
to it in maildrop anymore. What you are looking for is
authlib support
in maildrop.
$ maildrop -v | grep Authen
Courier Authentication Library extension enabled.
If you are trying to verify MySQL support, you should be
looking for it
in authlib, not maildrop

Ok, so Im not getting Authlib support then with maildrop

Authlib exists on the mailserver and is being used for imap

Then you need to explain exactly what you did, to compile
courier-authlib
and maildrop. Your question is like you telling an auto
mechanic that your
car doesn't start, and expecting the mechanic to fix it,
based solely on the
fact that your car doesn't start.

Because they're not supposed to, not anymore. You need to
configure authlib
to use the MySQL authentication module, and maildrop will
use
courier-authlib.

Ok well im using authlib and using mysql - ie im using
postfix + courier
+mysql to provide virtual domain accounts. The mailserver
has been running
well for the last 2 years.
Now I want to add maildrop support (basically some server
side scripts ala
procmail) - so I download the maildrop tar and build it,
getting no
errors.
maildrop -v gives me:
maildrop 1.8.0 Copyright 1998-2004 Double Precision, Inc.
GDBM extensions enabled.
This program is distributed under the terms of the GNU
General Public
License. See COPYING for additional information.
No mention of authlib support and if I run maildrop -d
<valid.uservirtual.com> - i get " Invalid
user specified".
Basically to me it looks like maildrop didnt find the
authlib libs and so
cant find virtual users in the myslq db

I tried the 2.0.3 version initially and then tried the other
versions from
sourceforge in the hope that one version would work. The
mailserver is
running fc3 so I thought maybe an old version of maildrop
would work - im
getting desperate.
I have tried the newest version and get the same results.
what am i doing
wrong ??
