I do have some ideas about it, but I'm not quite sure if it
would work.

One of the things is adding a feature to Simuze where people
can easily
contact another artists and invite them for an exchange of
music and ideas.

Actually another thing which I find a bit more important
right now is to
gain a better understanding about touring and the way these
are
organised. This particular band (We Vs Death) has been doing
split EP's
with a Belgium French band and when the EP was finished they
toured in
Belgium and France. They did a split EP with a Danish band
and hence
another tour was born. So perhaps this feature I was talking
about
should incorporate this idea of crossing borders and as such
should be
available for a multitude of platforms (e.g. Jamendo
<--> ccMixter <-->
Simuze <--> etc). What do you think?

All the best,

grtz

Remix Commons, and probably ccMixter, have a similar
feature.

That's an interesting idea, but I think it might make more
sense if we had a
separate web site where people could say "we're a band
interested in free
culture, we're on tour in these countries between these
dates so come and see
us, and we're open to new dates for free culture gigs, so
contact us".
Incorporating the idea of joint tours (also for supporting
acts that travel,
and for supporting acts in each locality) and possibly tying
entries in with
downloads available elsewhere would also be really nice.

If this info could then be picked up by Jamendo, ccMixter,
Simuze, Remix
Commons, FreeCulture.org(.uk) and so on then that would be
an added bonus.

What do you think about that?

Regards,
Tom
