Does anyone know of any (good) CC-only music blogs?

Thanks,

Elizabeth

http://www.hermann-
uwe.de/podcast and http://starfrosch.ch/ are
probably
the most active.

Thanks. I was thinking more along the lines of music blogs
(blogs where they
write about the artist/music and post a link to a song or
two) than podcasts,
but podcasts are cool too.

It seems, though, that http://starfrosch.ch is no
longer (or maybe that's the
wrong URL?)

CC365 (http://cc365.org) does
appear to be a cc-only music blog. If anyone knows
of any others (maybe genre-specific, etc.), that would help.

Oh, this is a good time to plug one of my side projects,
http://overlap.org/ This
site offers blog access, and aggregation of
feeds to hopefully point to cc licensed experimental
meedia...

Are Elizabeth, are you wanting to create a site that does
this? I think
it would be stellar for someone to create a wiki that could
house and
allow for authors to help catalog CC licensed work in many
different
medias...

Two other interesting projects are:
 http://ccmixter.org |
podcast: http://ccmix
ter.org/media/feed/rss/audio
 http://www.remixcommons.
org/ | podcast: http://www.remixc
ommons.org/podcast

And also not blogs, but has gigabytes of music:
legaltorrent.com. It features
back catalogs from various creative commons (net-) labels.

If you all are interested in creating this type of music
that has been
cc-licensed review, events, releases, and promotion
strategy, I suggest
that you seriously focus on a specific niche of music.

If done well, this could be an amazing site. I think one
strategy might
be to do something like overlap.org where the major sites,
that employ
cc licensed audio, could have their feeds (rss, atom)
aggregated and
viewed, particular ones could be highlighted and rated, and
so on...

However, I think best to make the title, project, etc, steer
clear of
CC, and focus on a specific area/style, and promote heavily
in the
mission/language, that it is about promoting CC-licensed
content, and
finding/promoting quality in this specific niche/area...

It is working now; the server may have been down for
maintenance when
you first tried (your e-mail was hour-stamped 2:44 CET, and
that's the
kind of time server maintenance tends to be done at).

Best

I have converted the suggestions on this list into a list
(with podcast links)
on my blog: http://bler.webschuur.com/lijst_met_creative_com
mons_muziekblogs
Might be handy for a bookmark or so.

No, but if the response to this thread is any indication,
someone's
missing the opportunity to make a very popular blog.
