Thanks for the link Rob.

Just checked out the site though and once again, I can't
see a way to filter 
out all of the NC and ND stuff (saw a lot of NC) to leave me
with only BY and 
NY-SA stuff which is what I care about.

CCMixter has a browse by tags where you can turn on system
tags which lets you 
filter out all by the BY tags there. CCHITS does have a
browse by tags, but 
no system tags that I could see. (It is still early for me
and I had a late 
night though so perhaps I am missing something obvious. If
so, can someone 
point it out to me please?)

Well, I was more looking for music *style* matching.
Sorting by genre isn't enough. It was more like:
here's a guitar track, now go find some other tracks I
could
drop it into, based on automatically extracting the
speed, beat, key, and other measurables.

The idea being that it allows music to be chunked into
different instruments. Musicians and mixer people could
find similar tracks that coudl work together and
make a song. Or a guitarist could find a song similar to
his, strip out the existing guitar track and drop in his
own.
