hi,
i got a big problem with dbmail2 imapd.(tobit > dbmail)
I tried to sync 2 imap servers, but because imapsync has big
problems
with the source server i switched to thunderbird.
I copied a bunch of mails from tobit to dbmail via imap.
This looked
sucessful, but when i tried to login into the new mailbox it
stopped
reading the headers after 270 mails.
I checked the Database and had to notice that all mails in
the mailbox
after 270 had NO unique_id!
ok i've read alot about problems with dbmail-imapd with 2.0
so i decided
to switch to 2.1, bause its just a testsystem i removed the
dbmail DB
and started from the beginning.
I followed this howto, bause im using debian sarge:
http://www.dbmail.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=upgrading_
to_2.1
2.1 needs lsb-base now so I installed it too(perhaps a
dependency would
help here?)
i had mysql-server 4.1 installed, but dbmail-mysql removed
it, when i
try to install 4.1 again dbmail-mysql gets removed.
with mysql 4.0 or 5.0 dbmail cant connect to the database:
Error dbmysql.c,db_check_connection: unable to connect to
database.
Error dbmysql.c,db_mysql_check_collations: error getting
collation
variables for database
connecting to mysql via commandline or phpmyadmin wasnt a
problem.
I dont know what went wrong.

Check the wiki again. I've updated the sarge section. Use
the native
sarge packages I'm providing.
Thanks for the heads-up wrt the dependencies. I've fixed
them.

hold the press. My repository scripts are down. Fallout from
a server
crash. I'll update the sarge packages asap.

np, thx for the good work.
just let us know when its ready.
about the problem with dbmail2.0 and the missing unique_ids,
is this
worth looking deeper into it?
or is this already known and fixed in 2.1?
