dbmail branched for 2.2 release
user name

Hi all,

I've branched the SVN tree and created the dbmail_2_2_branch
that will
serve as the codebase for the dbmail-2.2 series.

This means svn-trunk is open again for new development of
the
unstable-2.3 series.

Everyone tracking SVN should switch to the new branch if
they want to
track dbmail-2.2

svn switch https://svn.ic-s.nl/svn/dbmail/branches/dbmail_2_2_bran
ch

kind regards,

In looking at the download page it says 2.1.7 is unstable.
Is that right?
I want to upgrade from 2.0.10 to the latest stable
version...

Jim,

2.2.0 hasn't been released yet.

I've branched SVN in preparation, and I expect to release
2.2.0 within
the next three weeks. Those last weeks will be used to make
sure
everything is ready.

So, just a little more patience please.

No problem there...I can wait.

I was going to upgrade because when I start dbmail(2.0.10) I
get hundreds of
dbmail processes(some zombies) that start and my system has
to be rebooted
cause it freezes....This just started happening recently and
I don't know
why.

It does looks like a bug fixed in 2.1.5. Is there a
workaround without
upgrading?

Jim

I checkout, then from the dbmail_2_2_branch directory,

svn switch https://svn.ic-s.nl/svn/dbmail/branches/dbmail_2_2_bran
ch

..next, change to the dbmail_2_2_branch directory and when I
try and
.configure I get,

bash: ./configure: No such file or directory

This command works in the dbmail-2.1.7 directory

what did I do wrong?

Thanks,
Jim

Configure worked...next,
make
make install

then I get this error,

asciidoc -b docbook -d manpage dbmail.txt
make[1]: asciidoc Command not Found
make[1]: *** [dbmail.xml] Error 127
make[1]: Leaving directory '/download/dbmail/man'
make: *** [install-recursive] Error 1

The above install error doesn't look too serious so,

Next I started dbmail and I am getting errors in the log,
(after which my
system eventually freezes)
