Hi Jacques:
1.2.11 is very cool for production. Straightforward and
reliable. Good
legacy choice.
I never found a use for Horde (although it appears to be
well-written and
indeed popular) but I have written several and I have
installed Squirrelmail
on many user-driven requests. Never, in any version have I
had search fail
for DbMail -- Various degrees of effectiveness, but not
fail.
I also never managed to get Horde working completely on
anything.
Squirrelmail's a breeze but Horde makes me want to get
crazy and burn my
house down. Perhaps I just had a bad experience with Horde
as a child but I
strongly suggest Squirrelmail. It is soooo prolific that
there are Buddhist
monks in the deepest darkest corners of Tibet who speak no
words except
occasionally mutter "Squirrelmail Nirvana" and
grin as they open their
laptops and get into an email transcendental vibe. ( )
I have created a demonstration of search in DbMail for you.
You now have a
Canadian dev email account at e-me.ca.
I will send you your login credentials by other means. This
is using dbmail
2.0.9 and a bunch of other interesting things. The GUI is
proprietary
http://e-me.ca and the point is
to show you how well and how fast DBMail
search can be if the GUI is done right. I write the search
function quite
differently than Squirrelmail and Squirrelmail is about as
good if not
better.
best...
Mike

conversion from 2.0
to2.1
Hi Mike,
Thanks for your answner, my production server is dbmail
1.2.11.
I'm upgrading to 2.0.9 on a new server, but i have a
problem with
the search function in horde/imp interacting with
dbmail-imap.
So i decide to "twinkle" with 2.1.3...
I'll take your advice and stick with 2.0.9
I'll try to figure out why the search in horde/imp is
always giving
"nothing found" went interacting with dbmail
2.0.9
Thanks again
Cordialement
