at last from thunderbird, I can't seem to undelete any
messages with any permanency.

They'll tag as no longer deleted, but they don't stay that
way.

(I've set up my mailbox to mark them as deleted (Delete)
instead of moving them.)

Tom,

I can't reproduce this. Could you provide me with a level-5
log?

I have a similar problem with mail.app and 2.2.0, but
haven't come
around to report it. (Tried once but the logfile was to
big).

My problem with mail.app is that mail.app sets the message
status
from new to read, but when rsyncing to the imap server
status
still unread, so I constantly get a new messages warning for
old
messages. Doing a "set all messages as read" on
the specific folder
resolves it.

I'll do some log5's this weekend I think.

I am not sure that this is a DBMail bug. I'm having the same
problem
with Mail.app and non-dbmail imap servers (cyrus/uw-imapd).
This
leads me to believe this is a Mail.app bug (and it is bloody
annoying).

I'm pretty sure the problem was added when upgrading to
2.2.0 from an
older 2.1.7.
I did have problems deleting messages before, which
magically
returned after switching folders, but that problem is gone
now

The only relevant change that comes to mind is my adding
'UNSELECT'
capability, which might be used by mail.app. This required
some
refactoring in the code that opens/closes mailfolders. But
the 'STORE'
code which handles the delete_flag on messages was *not*
affected in any
way.

So without a level-5 trace, I can't do anything.

I wasn't able to reproduce it either.
But there was a message from dbmail-util that 32 headers
where not cached. What
a coincidence....

Not convinced that this is a dbmail problem.

I'm finding with some of my testing and behaviour that what
appears to be a
problem with dbmail isn't. I open the same folder under a
web mail application
and everything is fine.
