LMTP vs dbmail-smtp

Theory is, LMTP is much faster than dbmail-smtp but has
anyone actually measured 
this difference?  I'm on a local machine so I can go either
way.

Tom,

It's not just performance that should be taken into
consideration.

LMTP is a must for people who use multiple MTA's talking to
semi-remote
dbmail installations.
