export - import of mail accounts

Hi

Can some one please help me out here.
I am running a dbmail server now, and wants to switch some
of the user
to a new server.

I have export some user with "dbmail-export -u
username"

This give me some files like regular sendmail stuff.

But how do i get this files import to the new server?

I have looked at mailbox2dbmail like:
./mailbox2dbmail -u username /temp/username/INBOX -b
/usr/local/sbin/dbmail-smtp

But it returns with "No mailbox specified"

Can some one help me here?

Kasper

Hi Kasper,

When I moved users from one server to another, I:

* Set the ttl for the mail name low (60 seconds)
* Wait until the current ttl expired
* Create the accounts on the new server
* Change the ttl for the mail name to the new ip address
* Wait 60 seconds
* Restart imap connections if necessary on the old server
* Use ImapCopy to transfer the mail on the old server to the
new server

That said for backup purposes I would like to hear someone's
suggestion
for restoring mail accounts from the exported mailboxes into
dbmail.

Regards,
Josh.

Hi

Thx... it works pretty good with imapcopy.

But as Josh asked about, when you use dbmail-export for
back-up or else,
how do you then import it?

     -d|--dryrun
     -u|--user <user>
     -t|--type <mbox, maildir, and mhdir>
     -m|--mail <location of mailbox>
     -b|--box <Inbox,Inbox.Sent etc>
     -p <path to dbmail-smtp>
     -f <path to alternative config file>

Your syntax is wrong, it looks like this:
./mailbox2dbmail -u username -m /temp/username/INBOX -b
Inbox -t mbox -p
/usr/local/sbin/dbmail-smtp
