(I believe someone was creating a Subversion binary port for
 OpenBSD last 
year but I can't find it right now.)

and then:
svn checkout

Seems to have worked.  Thanks for your help.  I will be
repeating this
procedure with a sparc64 box later tonight... hopefully all
goes well
with that too!  Looking forwarding to utilizing this.  I'm
planning on
using a CGI written in C to parse emails directly from the
DB... then
later doing the same thing with Java.  Thanks again!
