"tracelevel" was not meant as explicit
"option". Ofcourse im using
trace_syslog and trace_stderr since 2.2 tree. ;)
The issue has been solved meanwhile. Had to kick a colleges
a.s who did
change the conf without communicating this (tried to work on
my ticket too).
Well, its Monday. Anyone? ;)

tracelevel has been deprecated since before 2.2.0. Please
use
trace_syslog and/or trace_stderr to control the logging
level.
