Hi Paul,
In 2.3x version, with the new database
design, the size that the database has, it’s not the real size.
I have now 52GB of DB Size, but comparing
with the email that is stored in this very moment:
“SELECT
round((sum(curmail_size)/1024)/1024,2) FROM dbmail_users ;”
Result:
8648.34
Wich mean that I have currently about 8,5GB
of email.
Is there something to tune this?
Is there a special reason for this huge
size?

Jorge, I'm not sure if you're using PG or Mysql, but I'm
going
to assume that you're doing all the normal (proper)
maintenance
of your database (vacuum and such)?

In case you are using the standard innodb pool - yes. The
pool never shrinks,
and unless you "defragment" it, it will keep
growing. In order to avoid this
situation it is very advisable to use
http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/multiple-
tablespaces.html

I'm already using innodb_file_per_table,
In fact it's my default for my MySQL Servers.

Well, my DB now has 53GB, and when I first posted this,
after a optimize
table on 2/3 tables I was with 49GB, so 4GB more, and I
don't have more 4GB
in email storage.
I don't know if Paul is on vacation or so, but it must be
something here not
right in dbmail_mimeparts table.
I still haven't the opportunity to do a optimize table on
dbmail_mimeparts
because I only have a 100GB disk, so remaining space is less
than the table
size.

Jorge, I don't want to step on your toes, but the whole 2.3
thingy is
*TEST* state. Everybody warned you to use it in production,
and if you
do, you shouldn't call Paul all the time for help. Or maybe
you pay him
for support already, then I guess he will be glad to help
you. You might
be better of to install a 2.2 server, and move your mail via
IMAP client
to that server.
