Hi
Before I start I have to admit, I been reading the
dbmail-dev mailing
list. I don't wont to get ahead of the developers and the
announcements your are planing to make but there is one
question I
have now.
What are the advantages and disadvantages between the sql
backends
specifically for dbmail? The answer to this would make a
great
addition to the wiki.
Here is what I know or think I know:
mysql:
Most widely used, faster then pgsql slower the sqlight, not
so secure.
Has great webadmin via phpmyadmin.
sqlight
Single file max. capacity 2GB, works only on localhost (No
networking)
fastest of all 3 sql's
I read that someone is using this as one sqlight db per user
which
isolates the db and therefore has security and even more
speed
advantages.
pgsql
The only think I know here is that it very secure and that
it has more
advanced futures.
Based on what I know (or think I know) I would like to
switch to sqlight.
How can I convert my mysql db to sqlight so that I have one
sqlight db
file per user plus I guess there is still going to be a
common db
right?
Thank you much
Demi
