Hi,

I'm migrating a 1.1 installation to 2.1 series. I notice
the default
charset in mysql is set to latin1, i've also noticed some
swedish charset.

Why not UTF-8? MySQL 5 has support for that.

Thanks,
	Alex

Aight, and the world is using mysql5 ONLY...

Nope no translation in any kind is good. Noone needs special
chars. If u use
them take them in 8bit. Lots of ppl also using still mysql3
and 4.

Never implied everybody has to use utf-8 either.

So where does the swedish stuff come from, e.g:

Debug dbmysql.c,db_mysql_check_collations: does
[collation_database:latin1_swedish_ci] match
[collation_connection:latin1_swedish_ci]?

Mysql is swedish and uses swedish charsets and collation as
default.

Dbmail does not impose any kind of restriction or default
preference on
charsets and collations. It's all up to the database.
