Thread: mysql charset

mysql charset

I asked once, could the charset be a parameter of
dbmail.conf ?
It's posible to implement that?
Paul told me that the charset was beeing set the same as the
charset of the
database (or the server can't remember).
What's the chances of doing this? i think it'll became
"modular" and let
people define their own defenitions on charsets.

Aight, and the world is using mysql5 ONLY...

Nope no translation in any kind is good. Noone needs special
chars. If u use
them take them in 8bit. Lots of ppl also using still mysql3
and 4.

Betreff: [Dbmail] mysql charset

Hi,

I'm migrating a 1.1 installation to 2.1 series. I notice
the default
charset in mysql is set to latin1, i've also noticed some
swedish charset.

Why not UTF-8? MySQL 5 has support for that.

Thanks,
Alex
