dodgeball.com is basically a sms network of friends that you
can tell
everyone where your at and people in the area of you. For
impromptu meetings
I think this could be a good idea. We can communicate
meeting time,
location, and other important info rather quickly. My acct
should be there
under staticblac. Lets get this rolling.

I would support this if there was a way to create sets of
friends that
only receive notices when sending explicitly to that set.

Also, I don't know of a way to search for people by
username.

Im tomwsmf on dodgeball. I had it early on and turned it off
since it
mostly annoyed me. If there is a use though consider it
turned back
on. Id love to see this used more for what I imagined it
would be for,
a sort of adhoc real time memo/alert/agenda device.

Using it for other than what it is being used for ("Hi
im getting
drunk at X please come and drink with me/sleep with
me/ignore me
totaly") we be welcome.

Actually, you can. I set up a DC206 group and then added my
DC206 friends
to it. I can text a message to that group and they get it.

That's not quite what I meant. You will find that if you
check in
without specifying a set, your friends in the DC206 set will
also
receive the message. I want the friends who are members of
this set to
only receive messages explicitly destined for this set. Any
other
checkins, including those without a target set should not be
sent to
these friends.

I suppose I could have a set called "default"
which doesn't include the
members of DC503 and send all my generic updates to that
set. But in
this case, I must always remember to use the
"default" set.
