Hi all,
I tested Knoppix on a notebook (Dell Latitude D630) with a
screen resolution
of 1280x800 (output of lspci is attached). Unfortunately,
Knoppix always uses
a resolution of only 1024x768 as long as I do not give it a
kick with the
screen boot option.
I tested some other live distributions and they all
succeeded in finding and
using the correct screen resolution automatically. I really
tested all
distributions I could get my hands on: (K)Ubuntu 8.04,
Sidux-Seminarix,
Myrinix, openSuse-10.3, Fedora-8-Live, Fedora-9-Live and
Debian-Live.
The only distributions that failed where Knoppix and its
derivatives. I poked
a little around in the startup scripts but only found that
mkxorgconfig
calles ddcxinfo-knoppix, which was a binary. This is where I
gave up...
Could someone tell me how to convince Knoppix to use the
correct screen
resolution automatically?
Regards
Ronny
