No offense but unless you have hundreds and hundreds of cells (or are using an Intel 386 CPU), 0.14 secs is pretty slow.. certainly not "a flash";. That's seeable by the human eye.

I just came back to the project this morning, implemented Antonis' suggestion of filling the Grid's Objects with a reference to a colour array, and it seems to be everything I need. The Grid is painted correctly in a flash (0.14 secs, to be precise)!
