My ears! I'm shocked to hear Delphi users talking like this.

Does D6 such compared to D7 too? And did D5 ever rock in it's day? I liked it so much, I reluctantly upgraded to D6 and really didn't think it was necessary at the end of the day.

Also most of the documentation examples and info seem
to be geared more towards D7 to put it mildly D5
really does suck.. I have the non pleasure of working
with the crap at work.. where I wish I could rewrite
this application that I work with in D7.. but what
makes it so hard is that D5 all the BS version info
you must include when installing components.. D7 is so
much better.. and if your really up for an upgrade.. I
would look at RAD 2007 it but D7 would give you all
that and then some.. trust me on that one

Shocked or not it's the truth.. and what makes it even
worse is that Borland didn't even take care of their
"Delphi Developers" when it came time to porting D7
over to .NET.. I guess we have "MICRO SUCK to blame
for that one..
but on a more serious note.. D6 was also in its
"experimental" stages as I like to call it..
too much trying to keep up with the Jone's in D5& D6
COM &DCOM Crap.. but if you want to stay with one of
the worst children of Delphi
D4 and D5.. be my quest.. it's your stress level that
we are talking about... lol

I thought D6 was worse than D5. D4, to me, the first really usable
version and D7 has most eveything I need (and what it doesn't have, I
can add)
There are two thresholds for products:
1) the lower one - the minimal level of functionality required for
viability (D4)
2) the upper one - functionality beyond this isn't worth the costs (D7)
Interesting note: D5/6 broke some of the D4 functionality so they were
below the lower threshold.

IMHO,
Doug
