Project description
Senior SQL Server DBA/Analyst will work with executive management,
Information Technology team and other resources as necessary on the Metrics
and Measures project.
Responsibilities
- Identify, sample and scrub key data sets across multiple applications and
databases.
- Aid in the design, development and deployment of a report set which will
use these data sets to measure company efficiency, effectiveness,
productivity and profitability across its various business lines and
geographic regions.
- Access, validate and report against data across multiple platforms and
databases (including MS SQL and pervasive SQL) with defined data selection /
filtering / ordering criteria.
- Develop a multidimensional cube-type reporting tool based on end users
feedback and request to vary the data selection and filtering criteria.
Must have Technical skills / Experience
1) 5+ years experience as Production or Development DBA.
2) 1 year ETL and data warehouse experience.
3) Experience with TSQL (stored procedures, views, tables, joins, data
conversion, data cleansing, and query performance).
4) SSIS development and deployment.
5) Demonstrate solid knowledge of SQL 2000 and 2005 and have the ability to
architect new schema and ETL processes to support data warehouse and
reporting projects.
6) Possess ability to write and troubleshoot stored procedures, functions,
tables, views, indexes, constraints.
7) Understand ETL processes, data cleansing and transformation techniques,
efficient data loading, and SQL Server performance.
Good to have skills
1. Conversion of DTS packages to SSIS.
2. MCSE or MCAD certification a plus.
3. Use of source control software (i.e,. Microsoft SourceSafe).
4. MS SQL 2000 / 2005 Analytical Services.
5. Prior experience with business intelligence / data warehousing products
such as Cognos, Business Objects, Hyperion Essbase, SSAS, Reporting Services
and other data mining / analytics tools helpful but not required.
6. Experience with our specific financial and operational applications
(Timberline, Commercial Servicer, Backshop, ADP) helpful but not required.
7. Experience working with Pervasive SQL helpful but not required.
