then your bumping into group policy at the domain level....

you will need to coordinate with your network admins to
schedule the
install, or maybe relax the security a little on that
specific computer...
however you may not get that from them...part of being a
network admin is to
keep the network safe and secure...with all the malicious
programs out
there, and the vulnerabilities that keep popping up in IE,
it is fairly
typical to only allow admins to do installs...but at the
same time there has
to be flexibility so people can do their jobs....

(i used to be a network admin)..

that is something set at the domain level with group policy
on the
domain
controller servers or the local security policy on that
secific machine.
if the network admins have locked down the machines, then
there's not
much
you can do.

when you say download...do you mean install or do you really
mean
download?

in windows 2k and 2k3 domains there is a group policy
setting that will
allow "install with elevated privileges" so
anytime windows installer
runs
it will always run under the admin account regardless of the
user that
initalizes the install.

alos, you may be alble to hold down the shit key and right
click on the
program to run it...one of the options in that context menu
will be "Run
As"
(assuming it has been allowed by the domain policy)...with
Run As you
can
specify an account to run the program with.

Hi All,

I have a VS2005 app that we want to deploy using Click Once.
I have run
into a problem that I hope someone has a solution. In our
environment, a
user has to have network admin privileges to download
anything to his
(or her) computer.

Is there some way around this?

Thanks,

Roy
