Hi all. I'm trying to write a nyquist plugin to do convolution reverb with impulse response functions that I have as waves. Initially I was going to ask what the nyquist prompt considered to be it's root directory, but then I discovered that it doesn't support s-read and cue-file. Is there any way arround this? Is including these functions planned in the future?

Hi,
In Audacity, those functions are disabled intentionally for
security.
Perhaps we could come up with a way for a Nyquist plug-in to
read
data files in known safe formats that are all bundled
together -
perhaps in a zip file. Would that work?
In the meantime you can test your reverb code using the
standalone
Nyquist interpreter, and test your plug-in with
computationally
generated impulse response functions.

Wait, those functions are disabled for security, and
"open" isn't? I
can read to and write from files using that function in
Audacity. (In
fact, it was very useful for debugging my own plugin.) That
seems like
a pretty big oversight.

That'd be fine, but I don't understand what the security issue is.
