In Windwos it's in the 'plug-ins' sub-directory of the
directory
where the Audacity executable resides.

In Macintosh OS X it's just the same.

In Macintosh OS 9 (the 'old' Mac system) I don't know
because I have never worked with.

In Linux it's usually in '/usr/share/audacity/plug-ins' but
may
be different in non-Debian-like distribution (e.g. Suse
Linux)
