assistance in agribusiness systems, financial services, enterprise

economic growth and vibrant civil society. ACDI/VOCA currently has
approximately 90 projects in 40 countries and revenues of
approximately $90 million.
We are currently seeking a Senior Advisor in Agriculture and Natural
Resource Management for the Alternative Livelihoods Program (ALP/N)
in Afghanistan. This short-term position is to start immediately and
will last approximately 6-7 weeks. The position will provide
technical and administrative management for agriculture and natural
resources management (NRM) activities, beneficiaries and staff of the
PADCO-led team in northern Afghanistan (in and around Faizabad).
Qualifications:
The candidate should be experienced in field production of vegetables
and have hands-on experience providing technical assistance in
natural resource management to farmers in developing countries.
Experience in technical supervision of the following activities would
also be helpful: improved animal health (DCA), Improve Fruit
Production (ROP), Home-based nursery for women - 7 districts,
Technology Transfer Centers which are extension centers that show
farmers how to grow high value crops and vegetables, Livestock
Training, and Improved Meat/Milk Production. Candidate must have
significant regional experience.
