The mission of the International HIV/AIDS Alliance is to reduce the
spread of HIV and meet the challenges of AIDS. Our vision is a world
in which people do not die of AIDS. Since 1994, the Alliance and its
partners have supported over 3,000 projects, in over 40 countries,
reaching millions of people.
After a period of successful programme development and strengthening
of Alliance partnerships in India, we are seeking candidates for the
post of Director of the Alliance's Secretariat office in Delhi. The
expected starting date is February, 2008.
The Director has responsibility for building a strong Alliance of
linking organisations in India, and attaining other key
organisational and operational objectives. In collaboration with
others, the Director will ensure the following are achieved: a
strategy that is both responsive to the situation in India and
aligned with the International HIV/AIDS Alliance's strategic
framework; a strong Alliance of Linking organisations in India; a
motivated staff, working effectively; an operation meeting output
targets; a solid donor profile, with revenue recovering costs; a
programme making a difference to the well-being of vulnerable people
and people affected by AIDS in India.
The Director will have demonstrated experience as a senior manager in
an international setting, broad knowledge of HIV/AIDS programming at
community-level, extensive experience in programme development and
proposal development. S/he has proven staff management skills, and
experience managing internal and external relations of an
organisation.
