The standalone client is actually just VS.NET, but only its
shell with the
TFS client loaded into it. The only problem with that,
though, is that to
legally use it you have to have a license for it. Client
licenses come free
with a Team Edition VS.NET, but for the standalone you have
to buy a CAL for
it (I think they're up near 300 or 400 a pop).
