I'd start by looking at Mono...

My understanding (though no actual experience) is that Mono
does not include the WinForms stack at all. Can anyone
verify this?

I can confirm that it does.

Just going to the link provided shows that WinForms is
supported.

Obviously if you have a lot of p/invoke you could be out of
luck, but I'd say support is there and it is obviously being
worked on. The latest release of Mono supports Windows.Forms
1.1 support (released November 2006). Mono 2.0 is supposed
to have preview support for 2.0 WinForms and Mono 2.2 to
have full 2.0 WinForms support.

Obviously YMMV as far as individual features you use in
WinForms.

Adam..

I will say that it does Shawn .. there are some big
qualifications on
that statement though.

http://www.mono-
project.com/WinForms

I would recommend downloading and playing.

Cheers,

Greg

That's an important point. To be cross-platform, programs
must be 100%
.NET managed code. Programs that are not will probably need
considerable work done on them. Thanks for pointing that
out, Adam.

Thanks everyone, I'll try Mono first. All my code is
managed without any pInvokes. I'll investigate Mono and
post back.

That's great. I remember some years back they indicated
they were going to skip WinForms and just do Avalon...but
glad they're doing both.
