DesktopLinux.com has published the results of its anual (desktop)linux poll. The interesting thing is in the 3rd question: Which web browsers do you frequently use on your Linux desktop(s)?
http://www.desktoplinux.com/cgi-bin/survey/survey.cgi?view=archive&id=0813200712407
The interesting thing is that a frozen project have enough users to win over 3 fully developed browsers (optimistic without cure)
Surely a thawn will increase the dillo users. what about a 1%?
The results from less to more Does not apply 0.1 % Netscape 0.1 % Safari 0.2 % Other (please tell us) 0.3 %
Flock 0.3 % Galeon 0.4 % Dillo 0.6 % Seamonkey 1.7 % Epiphany 2.3 % Mozilla 3.7 % Text-based browser (Lynx, Links, ELinks, etc.) 4.3 % Opera 11.9 % Konqueror 13.7 % Firefox (aka Iceweasel) 59.6
%
Are there news about dillo development?
Diego.

Wow, this is very interesting.
I think when Dillo FLTK will be released this percentage
will increase more.

Yoou made more than my day with that!
> Are there news about dillo development?
Yes there're.
It is soothing to see your optimism and hopes for
Dillo.
Sometimes we think with Sebastian that releasing the code
may not
make a difference after all because we currently have no
time to
devote, and if people don't develop themselves, there the
code
will remain.
Don't read us wrong, the decision to open the code is
already
made, and BTW, Sebastian did an sterling job of
documenting the
internals of Dw, so once it's out there, studying time
starts,
and development should follow naturally.
I wish you or somebody else in this list could take
care of
patch reviewing, web site updating and that kind of
tasks.
Anyone?
Some details remain, and I hope before September
ends, the
fltk2 version of Dillo to be online.

Cheers
Jorge.-

releasing the fltk2 code, even if nobody develop it, new
applications
can be arrived, as its use in the cell phone and others
embedded
devices.

I can help creating a LinuxBIOS rootfs with dillo embedded
to
demonstrate the web computer idea. Also can help updating
dillo web
site.

Yoou made more than my day with that!
I rejoice for you.
> Are there news about dillo development?
Yes there're.
It is soothing to see your optimism and hopes for Dillo. Sometimes we think with Sebastian that releasing the code may not make a difference after all because we currently have no time to
devote, and if people don't develop themselves, there the code will remain. I think that a change will happend, but to un-freeze a proyect need a lot of work. I hoppe that other people will help with it. First is to communicate the un-freeze then a delay will happend until people known and other for the people to make changes(patchs).
I remember that a question was made in the list about a GTK2 dillo version so it can be included in the (graphical) debian installer (as a d-i plugin i think) to read the docs. Surely a static linked FLTK version can be very attractive to d-i people.
Don't read us wrong, the decision to open the code is already made, and BTW, Sebastian did an sterling job of documenting the

Anyone? I want to take care of patch reviewing with the condition that other person review my patchs. Please give me some orientation or guidelines.
Some details remain, and I hope before September ends, the fltk2 version of Dillo to be online. That is a very good news!
