Hi!
I'm having annoying problems with DirectFB, Matrox G200 and
Gentoo
Linux. I've scoured the web and posted to numerous forums
about this
problem, but so far I've got no responses. I also searched
the this
mailing list's archives but found no good explanation on
what these
error messages mean and how to fix the problem. Generic
fbdev is working
like a charm.
See these links for more information about my setup /
configfiles:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-553242-highlight
-.html
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/showthrea
d.php?t=546036
Anyways, the problem is this: iIf I try launching _any_
DirectFB app
(vdr w/ softdevice, mplayer, dfbg, dfb demo programs etc.) I
get errors
like this:
(*) DirectFB/Core: Single Application Core. (2007-04-14
16:37)
(!) Direct/Modules: Could not open module directory
`/usr/lib/directfb-1.0-0/systems'!
--> No such file or directory
(!) DirectFB/core/system: No system found!
(#) DirectFBError [DirectFBCreate() failed]: No (suitable)
implementation found!
/usr/lib/directfb-1.0.0 contains only these:
gfxdrivers inputdrivers interfaces wm
If I create a link from gfxdrivers to system, I will get
this instead:
(*) DirectFB/Core: Single Application Core. (2007-04-14
16:37)
(!) Direct/Modules: Module 'libdirectfb_matrox.so' did not
register
itself after loading! Trying default module constructor...
(!) Direct/Modules: ... even did not register after
explicitly calling
the module constructor!
(!) DirectFB/core/system: No system found!
(#) DirectFBError [DirectFBCreate() failed]: No (suitable)
implementation found!
So what does this "Module 'libdirectfb_matrox.so' did
not register
itself after loading!" mean? How do I get it to
register? I noticed that
if I compile "vanilla" DirectFB-1.0.0 from
directfb.org, I don't get
these problems. Even the "systems" directory is
there. Is "emerge" just
leaving some configuration option out which standard
./configure finds?
What am I missing here?
Best regards to all,
Samuli
