Hi,
a tried a rv350 with directfb, but it completly fails with
softdevice.
Using this card with X11-Xorg 7.0 at least xv-out works.
Bought this card as a MSI RX9550. On startup I get the
following messages:
..
(*) DirectFB/Input: Keyboard 0.9 (convergence integrated
media GmbH)
(*) DirectFB/Genefx: MMX detected and enabled
(*) DirectFB/Graphics: ATI Radeon 9600 (4153) 1.0 (Claudio
Ciccani)

Will try a second test with current DirectFB cvs version.

In the current CVS the problem was solved.
There is similar thread, however:

Grrrrr.
It seems be be a card with bad memory, as with vidix i got
OSD only and
only a static video picture with constant vertical color
stripes.
In vidix I could circumvent that by reducing the available
video memory to 64M .
But with current DirectFB cvs it works ) even
without
videoram-limit=xx in /etc/directfbrc .
Is directfb memory allocation top -> down or bottom ->
up ?
Or is it the missing radeon-r300fix ?
(*) DirectFB/Core: Single Application Core. (2006-08-09

(!) DirectFB/Radeon: You are running a buggy version of
radeonfb!
-> Please, apply the kernel patch named
radeonfb-r300fix.
(*) DirectFB/Radeon: 3D Acceleration will be disabled.

(*) DirectFB/Core/WM: Default 0.2 (Convergence GmbH)

Top -> down.

The patch is under the patch directory of DirectFB.
I don't think it will solve the problem of the video
memory,
but give it a try if you want.

It starts to allocate at the end, I think you can say either
top or
bottom to it
