Issues in cairo/dfb with rectangle filling

Hi

I noticed that to get rid of some bugs [1][2][3] in gdk/dfb,
one has to 
disable rectangle surface filling in cairo (define
DFB_RECTANGLES to 0).
Could someone please look at this, since affects gdk/dfb
usability in 
many places?
