Hello everybody,
I'm updating an older project done with D8 and I'd like to
avoid the
Quicktime detection/installation hassle by converting all
the video
files to FLV.
I want to use a Flash 8 sprite as a generic player which
would load the
external FLV files based on playlists passed from Director.
I've tried
using the FLV playback component (although the documentation
says the
Flash 8 Asset Xtra doesn't support v2 components), then the
video class
and finally embedding the whole FLV into the swf. Every time
I get the
same result and it's already driving me nuts: the sound of
the movie
plays in Director, but there's no image. I got the same
result whether
the flash member was embedded in the caslib or linked to the
external
swf. I don't know what else to try.
Any idea what I might be doing wrong? I've searched the
archives and
found nothing more than a few people reporting they are
successfully
doing exactly what I want, but no examples or details
whatsoever.
I'm on digest so I won't be able to respond right away, but
any help
will be greatly appreciated.
Director MX 2004 v10.1, Flash 8 Pro, Windows XP SP2 and OS
X.
Thank you,
Tudor
