For me it looks like they are arming for the fight against
MS  
upcoming "so called Flash killer" Sparkle...
Not that I think, it is a bad idea to take the route they
decided to  
take.
Maybe they even remember this "ancient tool" they
have somewhere in  
the archives (India ?), with which they can compete with
Sparkles 3-D  
features, once they retake development

Doesn't everyone seem to miss the point here? Lucas is
pointing out that we
may get JS performance on par with AS3 in Director!! OK, so
it'll probably
take strong typing and some other hoops, but hey, I can live
with that.

Now what was the performance ratio AS3 vs Lingo?
