Aha, I got the developer kit already, and experimented a
bit, but I can only
get the envelop option to work (this is where teh compelte
e.e file is
protected, but you can't issu calls from teh director app
to the dongle to
e.g. have certain .exe features enabled or disabled.

I spoke to the tech guy from aladding and they said that
Lingo is not really
supported as such as the calls to the Dongle have not been
ported to Lingo
and it would depend on developers / clietns interest to get
it done
(otherwise they'd charge about £20000 plus to do it for a
individual
project).

As they are making their money on teh dongles they sell, it
may well be
worth pushing this a bit and offer it to clietns, as tey
probably only need
3 or 4 clients buying about 100 dongles each to make it
worth their while
...

we'll see ...

Have you experimented with other dongle companies?

thx,

Nik

I would be very, very surprised if these API calls aren't
doable inside
a scripting xtra with very minimal effort.

Shouldn't cost you all that much to get someone to make
one.

Hi Lucas,

I thought about that as well and there is the VB scriopting
Xtra by eugene,
which is very good at scripting 'VB' scriptable apps. One
concern from the
tech guy at Aladdin was that these calls need to be
concealed and the DLLs
they call must be concealed in some way. I am not sure at
this stage whether
he means thy just are to be invisible, or hidden in some
other way.
