Not even using a buffer image will help.

You could try to have your fps match your monitor refresh
rate, but it's 
all just crap. I've had two stabs at writing a vsync xtra,
but there's 
just not enough hooks in director to make it work..

Director keeps two buffers. When it is done with one, it
just slams it 
onto the screen, nomatter where the vertical refresh is.

I think the best option you might have is make everything in
3d, and 
turn on vsync at the driver level..  I haven't really
checked if this 
works, but if I had to make something be tearing free,
that's where I'd 
be looking..
