MS Windows 2003 Web Edition Athlon Powerline 2600 from
ServerBeach.com (I
have three game servers)
Server Beach charges me about $180 per server per month - no
hardware
firewall server
1gb memory on the machine - but not really a major concern
The latency difference between my Athlon 2200 game server
and the two 2600s
is noticable under high traffic
TankBall - Shooter
Sherwood Dungeon - MMORPG
MoonBase and Marian's World - Avatar Chatrooms
Simutaneous Users- about 1700 peak per server but average
600-700
100mbit connection
Standard Shockwave Multiuser Server - most messages sent as
system script,
but minor processing only on the server side - anti hacker
measures only.
Clients send messages every 700-900 ms
Close to 1800-2000gb of bandwith per month
Hope that helps.
