OT: Nintendo opens up Virtual Console

I read this online yesterday:

"Nintendo has developed a programming system that will
allow small  
independent developers to make games for Wii download
service.

We cannot confirm at this time in what format the new
content will be  
delivered, but in the future there will be original games
available  
for download through the Wii Shop."

There's no other information other than that that I've been
able to  
find.  No timeline or details or anything.  But I thought
some people  
on this list might be interested in hearing about this.

Yeah, I read that too. I finally got a Nintendo Wii Last
weekend and it can
function very much like a mouse-based system. I can see a
lot of mouse-based
PC games being ported to the Wii in a much more
straightforward fashion than
Xbox or PS3.
