Otoy news...

Hi,

Here are some recent otoy screen shots : http://www.alesk.fr/otoy/
All of these images are rendered using DX9 on a ATI 1900
card, the DX10 
version should be available for April.
Since mid 2006 OTOY DX9 renderer is being used primarily for
films and 
production companies as a real time Renderman/GI tool.  Two
web  based  
projects using this renderer will  be launched in summer
2007.

Thanks for showing some screenshots!

What i miss with this is a description of what otoy really
should be  
beside of a rendering engine (is there a game engine, is
there a  
physics engine, is there networking, is there 3d sound and
so on) and  
what the focus will be. Secondly as nice as some of the
screens are  
looking a) they are small, b) they are stills and don't show
a  
realtime situation and c) HDR and stuff like that is sexy
but you for  
sure won't see this running at reasonable framerates on
low/mid range  
gfx cards people use today and at least i don't work in the
film  
production so no matter how good looking a shader is, it has
to run  
at a reasonable framerrate first.

I just would like to see some realtime stuff.
